Curriculum

All children in every year group are entitled to be taught a broad and balanced curriculum that is well matched to their needs, taking into account their previous learning.

This section of the website explains what we teach in each subject in each year group and gives a flavour of the content of the Primary School Curriculum.

We use the National Schemes for Literacy and Numeracy when planning lessons in these subjects. In all other areas of learning we refer to the National Curriculum orders for guidance.

We teach subjects other than Literacy and Numeracy on a two year rolling programme. This ensures that all children get the chance to cover the full range of topics in all subjects.

The topics taught in Year A (2006 - 2007) of this two year programme are shown below for each year group.

Art and Design and Design Technology are taught through topics on one afternoon each week.
