We value the part that sport plays in the curriculum and extended activities in school.

Barwell CE Juniors at the Leicester,

Leicestershire and Rutland Youth Games

A large squad of pupils from our school represented the Hinckley and Bosworth District in the Youth Games at Loughborough University at the end of June.

Our girls' football team did magnificently well to win through to the finals. They were very close runners up after some extremely tightly fought games.

Here they are - their big smiles tell the story and we are very proud of them all.

Football Report - Barwell Girls v Newlands Girls

On 5th May our girls played Newlands' girls in a 7-a-side game and were delighted to come home with a very convincing win. You can see from their faces how pleased they were! Well done girls, and thanks to Mrs Foulkes for arranging and supporting.

Girls' Football Tournament - April 2007

On saturday 21st April 2007 Mrs Foulkes and parents took a squad of Year 5 and Year 6 girls to play in a local friendly football tournament. The girls did really well to win five games and draw two. Their play was excellent throughout, and their attitude was a credit to the school.

The photograph shows the girls with the certificates they gained as a reward for participating in this non-competitive tournament.

Barwell Athletic Minis FC

Beagles U9's Team

Brilliant news - in April 2007 The Beagles U9's team won their league, with consistently fine play throughout. They scored a total of 79 goals and only conceded 11. They won 12 games and drew 2.

The photograph shows the Year 4 pupils from our school who were part of the team. The large trophy was shared by the team and all players received a smaller trophy to keep.

Y3 / Y4 Football Tournament - April 2007

On Tuesday 24th April a squad of pupils form Year 3 and Year 4 went to The Goal centre in Leicester to take part in an inter-school football tournament. The photograph below shows the team proudly displaying their certificates and the medals they won for playing so well against teams from all over the county and the city.

Thanks to Mrs Foulkes for organising and accopmanying the team, and to all parents who supported us.
